When I was a child and saw the TV commercials with the woman who smoked so much she had to smoke through a hole in her throat, I thought she was the coolest.
If it were legal, I would donate cigarettes to children so they could be cooler.
When I worked in the gag greeting card business in the 90’s, our top-selling card was a little two-year-old baby dressed up like James Dean on a motorcycle and taking a big drag on a Marlboro. The card said, “Be bad to the bone on your special birthday, Love _____ .” We moved over 7,000 of them before the ATF shut it down. You can now only find these cards on the dark web.
Yes, cigarettes are loaded with dangerous chemicals and additives that are much worse than tobacco, but everyone does look cooler smoking a cigarette.
